Welcome to the first edition of the PocoNotes Newsletter! We're happy to be here and are thrilled to have you with us.
There's been lots of activity over the past several weeks, and you get to hear it first!
Great news! Just this week, The Storyville Stompers Brass Band agreed to come all the way from New Orleans in support of our show - as well as their fellow musicians. They have a long history in New Orleans, and we've posted a link with more about them: Poconotes: Friends
Claudia Marshall of WFUV hosted The Subdudes' live performance at The Cutting Room in New York City on May 9th and mentioned our benefit concert - on the air!
Our 60-second radio ad debuted on The Mountain 102.3 FM to coincide with our tickets going on sale on Ticketmaster. Throughout June, The Mountain will be offering their 8,000 VIP members an opportunity to win one of five sets of tickets to the show. Listen to the ad here: Poconotes: 2006 Radio Spot
A full-page article about PocoNotes and the From NOLA To NEPA Benefit Concert was donated to us and will appear in June edition of "The Hideabout," the monthly newspaper published by our gated community. It will tell our neighbors about who we are...what we are doing...and why we're doing it. You can see the article (before it's published!) on our site: Poconotes: AboutUs
This is a community event. So, we've spoken at length with the offices of several local leaders, who seem to like what they've heard. We hope that they will be willing to help to make this event as big a success as it can be.
We've begun to get interview requests from the local media, and that will certainly help to spread the word about the concert.
